Blackburn Rovers - Honours & Achievements

It is amazing that a small-town club can achieve far more than fellow town clubs and yet able to complete with more popular and larger city clubs.

Blackburn Rovers started hunting for her first trophy, the then prestigous F.A. Cup back in the old days. The first trophy was almost won in 25 March 1881 when Blackburn Rovers lost to Old Etonians in her first F.A. Cup Final.

2 years later, Rovers made a remarkable comeback to win the F.A. Cup for consecutive 3 years from strong sides of Queens Park, and West Brom.

In 1889,arch-rival Burnley won their first honours, winning the Lancashire Cup with a 2-0 final victory over Blackburn Rovers. Blackburn responded with F.A Cup honours in the two seasons from 1890 to 1891. Blackburn Rovers was eventually crowned the Champion for Division One in the season 1911-12.

The most incredible silverware ever won has to be the 1994/95 Premiership Trophy where we edged out favourites Manchester United by a nail-biting point on the last day. The last trophy was the 2002 Worthington Cup won by Graeme Souness.
